Collectors Edition’s – a waste of money?
Unlike a lot of people, I’m a sucker for collectors editions and when the content is right for a game I particularly love, I think spending on a collectors edition is not a waste of money.
They can actually workout to be good investments if you can retain the whole package in good condition as there are only ever a finite number available.
But I would not go into purchasing a collectors edition looking to make a profit. Instead, I would be buying it because, as a gaming enthusiast, I see the value in its contents. Understandably though not all do – and that’s fine.
Should you buy the Halo 5 Collectors Edition?
Looking at the content of the Halo 5 Collectors edition, the listing shows the following:
- Commemorative Statue of the Master Chief and Spartan Locke by Triforce
- Guardian model by Metal Earth®
- Uniquely-designed Spartan themed SteelBook®
- Warzone REQ Bundle: 14 Premium Requisition packs
- Spartan Locke’s Classified Orders and the Halo: The Fall of Reach – Animated Series
- Xbox Live Gold 14-day Trial – perfect for playing with friends
This is quite a package considering you are getting two statutes and and a Metal Earth Guardian Model. On top of this, a pre-order at Amazon will get you the following bonus:
Any one is remotely interested in HALO 5, is likely to be interested in picking this up. The price, of course, is prohibitive at $249.99 but when you take out $60 for the game, you are actually paying $189.99 for the remaining contents. Still though, it’s no small chunk of money and is likely to be reserved for the most enthusiastic of fans.
I’m personally not a huge Halo fan and so would ordinarily be content on just picking up the game itself but I have enough interest to know that with this package of contents, this is one collectors edition not to be passed. I can always sell it on if the game turns out to be mediocre.
You can pre-order your copy here should you beat the race to get your pre-order in.
Halo 5 recently showed a stage demo at E3 which you can watch below.
