There already been criticism from CD Projeckt Red and Far Cry Developer Ubisoft on DRM for PC games and Speaking with GameSpot, Magicka developer Paradox Interactive CEO Fredrik Wester criticised DRM stating it is a headache.
He described that it is actually a hassle for those that have purchased the game and is proving to be a hindrance rather than a help to the industry.
He suggested that it is more hassle free to those that pirate than those that actually purchase legitimate copies and that it should be more convenient to buyers to get their content not the other way round.
Wester pointed out that Paradox is a “highly profitable” company, so launching an anti-piracy campaign at this juncture doesn’t make a lot of sense to them.
